Size Measuring Guide

At Highland Outfit, we want to ensure that your kilt fits perfectly. Follow this guide to take accurate measurements for a custom fit.

Waist Size

Measure your waist at the navel level. The tape should be tight, and this measurement is typically taken 2 inches above your hip bone or higher than where your trousers are usually worn.

Hip or Seat Size (Optional)

With your feet together, measure the broadest part of your hips. Make sure your pockets are empty! This measurement is optional but recommended for a more precise fit.

Fell Measurements (Optional)

Measure halfway between the waist and seat (bottom). The fell is the distance from the waistline to the hip measurement line. This is an optional measurement but can help in ensuring a better fit.

Kilt Length

Kneel on the ground and place the tape measure on the floor, then measure up to your belly button. Remember, kilts should not be worn too long!

Important Notes

Normally, your kilt length will correspond with the above guides. If your measurements are significantly different, try taking them again. Slight differences may be due to personal preference or body shape.
